My name is Ashley Mattson - the one behind the camera for a.m. photography. I am an Upper Peninsula based family and lifestyle photographer. My husband and I were both born and raised in the U.P and are so happy to now be raising our three crazy kids here as well. We love to spend time together outdoors, especially on the lake. 

My whole life I have been creating, designing, and  learning about what makes something beautiful. In college I studied Apparel and Textile Design and spent some time working for a fashion magazine in New York.

Once I had children, my passion went from textiles and fashion and morphed into a desire for photography.  As a mom, I quickly realized how fast they grow and I knew I had to capture it!  I decided I wanted to have a way to savor those memories forever and began my journey as a photographer. I combined my design skills and continue to expand my photography practice. The heart behind my work is to capture life’s special moments and help my clients create lasting memories.
